Holy moly these pests are creepy. It’s just that they’re so fast! They remind us of zombies- Yuck. They bite, but don’t cause the necrosis that lack widow and brown recluse spiders can cause in humans.
The common name of this spiders is known as the Huntsman spider and scientifically known as Heteropoda venatoria. We know it in Hawaii as the cane spider.
Like many pests, Cane spiders don’t want to be seen and try to stay out of the way. When you do see them, they’ll usually run off, but it’s questionable it they’re as scared as you are! especially if they get frightened and start running towards you.
