Our wonderful, year-round tropical climate and rainfall make for a paradise for the pests of Hawaiʻi. The following are some of the sources of pest infestations inside your home.
1. Living – Your home provides an ideal environment for many pests to live and breed. For every bug found, there are hundreds or even thousands hiding in the dark moist harboring spots located in the cracks and crevices and in the walls.
2. Unborn – No product currently on the market can penetrate an egg. Insect eggs can hatch for up to six months after the time they are laid. Thus, even after all the active ones are eliminated, the eggs can hatch and cause a reinfestation.
3. Intruders – Many of your neighbors do not have any type of pest control program, and consequently, their bugs can enter onto your property as they forage for food and colony space.
At Kilauea, we only use the best available products and the best methods for controlling pests. This means that you will be getting the most effective and safest treatment possible.
Initial Cleanout- The first time Kilauea treats a home, we will gain control of the majority of the active pests. We will treat problem areas inside for a variety of pests, and a barrier treatment around the exterior of the home, pest susceptible plants, and fence line.
Residual Products and Targeted Baits – Kilauea uses products that have a lifetime residual of 30-60 days. Baits and growth regulators are also used to target the source and break down the life-cycle of the pests.
Protective Barrier – On the regular maintenance treatments, Kilauea will create a protective barrier around your home that will keep outside intruders from entering and reinfesting.
