747’s, Brown eagles, and the Hawaii state bird. They’re know by their common name American roaches. With Kilauea, you’ll know them as former American Roaches.
American Roach Identification
American roaches are the big brown roaches that we see crawling and flying around Hawaii. They can be an inch to 2 inches long and are uniformly brown in color. A very light tan stripe across their thorax.
Fortunately regency these guys don’t infest inside homes too much. Unfortunately these pests come in from the out doors and sewers where they breed and even with pest control can fly in and get through untreated cracks around windows and other entry points.
American Roach Service
Because American roaches generally do not infest inside homes, unlike German roaches, a good exterior treatment from Kilauea can help reduce most of the population on the outside so that there’s really nothing to come in. Like most pests, these big American roaches do not like publicity and will generally stay in areas where there’s not a lot of activity like attics garages, and cabinetry. Sometimes people ask us about dropping they find in their cabinet drawers and we can conclude from the size that it’s either American roaches or mice.
