1. Leave the Clues Behind
If you see signs like a trail of ants, droppings, or webbing, don’t clean it up just yet.
Leaving those signs in place helps your technician diagnose the issue more accurately and treat the root cause, not just the symptoms.
Quick Tip
If you need to clean, take a photo first and send it to us or keep a sample in a sealable bag. That way, we still get the info we need.
2. Don’t Let Your Guard Down Between Visits
Your recurring service breaks pest cycles, but your daily habits play a big role too.
Leaving food out, dishes overnight, or allowing moisture to build up creates a welcome mat for bugs.
Think of it as a Partnership
We’ll handle the pests. You help reduce the things that attract them. The results last longer that way.
3. Keep Us in the Loop
Notice something between services? A photo goes a long way.
Send us a picture and we can either prep for your next visit or help you with a quick solution remotely.
Upload a Photo
The easiest way to send us a photo is by emailing billing@kilaueapest.com.
Your email might already be connected to your account, but to be safe, you can always include your property address in the message.
4. Trust the Process
Not every pest issue goes away overnight, and that’s okay.
Pests like ants and roaches often need consistent treatment to fully clear up. One-time sprays can offer short-term relief, but long-term control takes time.
In fact, it’s not uncommon to see a temporary increase in activity as pests come out of hiding and interact with the treatment.
You’re on Track.
If you’re seeing less activity after each visit, that’s a good sign. Trust the process.
5. Ask All the Questions
Your tech is trained, licensed, and happy to explain everything.
Ask questions, why they’re treating certain areas, or what else you can do between visits. No question is too small.
Checklist: Are You Making the Most of Your Plan?
Use this list to keep your home pest-resistant between visits.
Pest Control Partner Checklist
- Leave visible signs of new pest activity for your tech
- Store food (and pet food) in sealed containers
- Don’t leave dishes or food out overnight
- Clean up water in sinks, tubs, and counters
- Avoid clutter like cardboard that pests love to hide in
- Let us know if anything changes in your home
- Ask questions during your service
Self-Check: What’s Changed Since Your Last Visit?
Ask Yourself:
- Have I seen any new bugs or droppings?
- Are any areas in my home more humid or damp?
- Is there clutter or food that wasn’t there before?
- Have I made any renovations or changes to the home?
- Have I told my technician everything they should know?
If you answered yes to any of these, let us know! We’ll come prepared.
